Info: Lately I've been having a hard time with the news: Cherry farmers are under attack from the FDA over claims that cherries have powerful anti oxidants helping fight against cancer. Meanwhile, the FDA has sanctioned the use of nicotine infused water containing highly addictive nicotine to drink in no smoking restaurants.
How many cherries you would have to eat to have adverse side effect?
Did you know in 2007, 53% of the FDA's $436 million dollar budget is provided by the pharmaceutical industry.
Are we easily fooled or a "quick fix" culture that wants instant remedy. Recently, the media reported the death of a 4-year-old, Rebecca Riley, who was prescribed Depakote, Seroquel and Clonidine after being diagnosed as having Bipolar disorder.
A conscious shift towards preventative medicine with a mind, body, soul approach, rather than the quick fix approach, I think is what is needed.
